The 8621 Georgia Avenue Apartment Building is a new high-rise residential apartment tower
in downtown Silver Spring sited on the east side of Georgia Avenue. The first floor of the building
includes the main apartment building lobby with reception desk, Cyber Café, elevator lobby,
mail room, package room, fitness center, and leasing office. A 1600-square-foot retail space is
located at the southeast corner.
The design and construction of 8621 Georgia Avenue is targeting LEED Silver of LEED 2009 for
sustainability. The project incorporates energy efficient and water saving strategies to assist in
meeting City and County environmental goals as well as being a good neighbor. A green roof of
planted draught resistant plants will be installed on select areas of roof for the building including
over the top level of parking at the first level of residential apartments.
Floors five (5) through fifteen (15) house the majority of residential apartments. These
apartments range in sizes as Studios, 1-Bedroom Jr., 1-Bedrooms, 2-Bedroom Jr., and
2-Bedrooms. The top floor of 8621 Georgia Avenue includes amenity spaces of a club room,
outdoor pool, pool toilets and lockers, and a roof terrace with fire pit.
